Fitzwilliam Recreation (Activities)

 

Programs sponsered by Fitzwilliam Recreation:

Tennis: Tennis instruction with Hunter Durfee is held on Mondays and Wednesdays. Anyone 6 years old and up is invited to learn how to play - just $10 per class! Please call to register 585-7270.

Summer Recreation Program: The Summer Program commences Monday July 9th and will run through Thursday August 9th. Lots of fun, games, crafts, swimming and hiking is planned. It's sure to be a blast! Make sure those kids wear comfortable clothes, sneakers, and bring plenty of water to stay hydrated throughout the day.

Family Fun Relay and Obstacles Race: The Recreation Department is looking forward to Fitzwilliam's 250th Birthday Celebration. To help, it will be hosting a Family Fun Relay and Obstacle Race Saturday July 28th on the fields behind Emerson School. The fun begins at 11:00. Old Fashion Games immediately follow. Bring the whole family to play!

Keene Family YMCA (Activities)

The Teen Center provides teens a cool place to go after school. Lots of new and exciting indoor and outdoor activities will happen this year! Program is open Monday thru Friday from 2:30 - 6:00pm on all school days. YMCA Membership is required.

The Recreation Center Game Room and Gym are open for public use on the hours listed below:
Monday - Friday
Gym 3-4:45 PM (All ages)
Game room 3-5:30 PM (All ages)
Tuesday & Thursday
Gym: 7-9 PM (High school & up)
Wednesday
Indoor Soccer in the Gym: 7-9 PM (High school & up)
Saturday & Sunday
Gym and game room: 12-4 PM (All ages)

Snow Days and School Vacations 9 AM – 5 PM

Children must be at least 6 to use the facility. Each room is adult supervised at all times. The gym is open for shooting around or pick up basketball. The game room has a TV, pool tables, ping pong, nok-hockey, air hockey, Wii, and quiet board games available for use.


Activities and Clubs

Join 4-H (Activities)

4-H offers a wide variety of opportunity for all youth between the ages of 5-18. The 4-H program is open to everyone! Expectations for 4-H membership are a balance between the 4-H project work, involvement in their local 4-H groups and clubs, participation in 4-H activities and events, and working towards improving one’s personal growth. You can enroll in 4-H anytime, but September and October start the 4-H year.

Teen Advisory Group (Activities)
Come meet our new Teen Librarian and share your ideas about what you think should happen in the teen section of the library! Do you have book suggestions or great teen programming ideas? We would love to hear your thoughts and work with you to make the teen section of our library even better. All teens age 12-18 welcome. Snacks provided!

Volunteer / Employment Opportunities

Monadnock Humane Society (Activities)

Interested in helping dogs, cats and other animals? Become a volunteer at the Monadnock Humane Society and be a part of something wonderful! Volunteers must be at least 14 years of age to volunteer at MHS. Volunteers, ages 14 and 15, must be accompanied by an adult 18 years of age or older at all times. Volunteers must also attend trainings to make sure you and the animals are safe!

Stonewall Farm (Activities)

Volunteer Opportunities at Stonewall Farm:


Stonewall Farm seeks individuals interested in helping out in their garden, farm stand, dairy barn, office, and more. Some experience in a farm and/or office setting is preferred, but they will train the right individual! Volunteers typically commit to a minimum of 2 hours per week, and all volunteers must be at least 14 years of age. If you are interested in becoming part of their Farm family, please contact Kate O'Connor at 603-357-7278.

Keene Public Library - Youth Department (Activities)

The Keene Public Library Youth Department has a variety of programs for youth and teens!. Events include gaming nights, writers workshops, movie nights, anime club, book club, homework help and more!
